Finally Finished!!!

April 21st, 2007

After making one last big effort this afternoon, we finally got the puzzle done! Last night Andrew told me that I was a masochist to be doing the puzzle, but he actually gave me a hand, despite his color blindness, to complete the puzzle today. Although it was really challenging at the end, I really enjoyed doing this puzzle. Thanks, Josh!!!

Check out how big this puzzle is compared to Sammy… it was no small feat to complete :o)

A Few Things to End the Day

April 17th, 2007

This is a short movie of Sammy trying to crawl and spitting up on the floor instead :o).

I made progress! Most of this was done yesterday… I finished all the yellowish flowers, and today I began on the pink ones. Do you think I’ll get it done before the hubby comes home on Thursday so we can reclaim our dining room table? We’ll see….!

Trying to Crawl

April 15th, 2007

Sammy has been trying so hard to get around lately. He’s mastered the art of rolling, but he’s just struggling to figure out how to make those little arms and legs of his cooperate and propel him across the floor. Let me show you what I mean.

Here’s Sammy, trying to get into trouble

img_4133.JPG

Today Sammy rolled onto the pergo and was thinking about trying to make his way over to Mommy

img_4136.JPG

To reach Mommy, he lifted his arms and legs in the air and began to wiggle them wildly

Once his tummy hurt from all the pressure, he put his arms and legs down, to discover he got… nowhere.

So, he rolled over instead!

Oh, by the way, take a look at the outfit he’s wearing. It use to belong to Uncle Jonny. When we went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s for lunch today, he pooped out his outfit, so he got to wear some of Uncle Jonny’s old clothes. Hope Uncle Jonny doesn’t mind ;o).

A Field of Tulips!!!

April 15th, 2007

For the past week I’ve been having the joy of putting together a very challenging puzzle that Rachel’s boyfriend, Josh, gave me as a hostess gift for letting him stay at our house in March. Here’s a little look at my progress (or lack thereof!)

Things started getting harder on Wednesday…

A struggle on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I’d love to get this puzzle done by the end of this week. I still have about half the puzzle to go, so maybe I’m being too optimistic, but I’ll give it my best :o).

Tough, but Smart!

April 12th, 2007

Patrick got his first burn on Sunday. What happened was I had just pulled the rolls out of the oven, closed the door and turned away for a second to put the oven mitts in the drawer next to the oven, when Patrick came up and tried to grab a roll off the top of the stove. This is the first time he’s ever been burned, but when it happened all he did was yell in pain for a moment, and afterwards he didn’t cry as I hurried to put his hand under cold water. Afterwards, we noticed him looking at his hand several times, but he didn’t complain about his injury. I couldn’t even figure out exactly where the burn was because I couldn’t see any burn marks on his skin and Patrick didn’t show me exactly where it hurt. So a day later I was amazed to see a large scab running across his entire wrist… he’s a tough little kid. I know if it happened to me, I’d of cried my head off. But anyways, I’ve been caring for his wound. I’ve been keeping it covered, and rubbing ointment on it. Today while I was changing his dressings, I thought it would be fun to draw something on the large, boring beige bandage. I pulled out a sharpie and drew a smiley face. Patrick looked at it and said, “Who’s dat?”. I told him, “Dada”. He looked at me, very puzzled, and said very sternly, “Dat not Dada!”.
