I just wanted to say happy 21st birthday to my favorite curly brown haired sister in Iowa, Rachel!

Patrick On Path to Becoming a Good Presbyterian!

February 17th, 2006

I just have a funny little story: Today I was reading Patrick one of his books, “What Makes a Rainbow”, a cute little board book that goes through all the colors that make up a rainbow using brightly colored ribbons. At the end of the book a big rainbow pops up, and the few times I’ve read the book in the past I’ve always asked him who made the rainbow and told him that God is the one who made it. Well, today we read the book twice, and both times when I asked Patrick who made the rainbow, he answered right away with the word “Gaw”. Patrick hardly ever uses the “g” sound, so it got my attention right away. Also, if you know anything about kids his age, they have a hard time ending words with consonant sounds, so when he says “ball” it sounds like “baa” and “duck” sounds like “duu”. I don’t know if Patrick really understood what he was saying today when he answered my question with “Gaw” both times, but it was sure cute!!!

A Look at the Feucht’s Almost Finished House!

February 9th, 2006

I received a request from one of my sisters to see pictures of my parents’ house now that most of it is remodeled. While the kitchen, the guest bathroom, and the kid’s bathroom are all complete, the master bathroom is still a work in progress. Here’s what it looks like now:

They ripped out the old carpet, put in floor tiles, and repainted the old cabinets. They also took out of the old countertop and sinks, replaced the sinks, and now the countertop is just waiting for new faucets and granite!

They took out the old faucets, added new ones and added a hand shower in the soak tub.

Ready for granite to complete this bathroom!

A new chandalier!

Tiles finished in kid’s bathroom, towel bars installed.

Mom and Dad have all their stuff in this bathroom as they wait for the master bathroom to be finished.

Patrick enjoys being in Oma and Opa’s house!

New lighting fixtures in the dining room have been installed

Kitchen feels more homey as little touches are added throughout

Pictures and other decorations have added to the guest bathroom

There you go! That’s how the house looks now. Of course pictures can’t do justice, so you’ll have to come out and see the house for yourself!

Patrick’s Always Up To Trouble!

February 9th, 2006

Just a couple of pictures showing what Patrick has been up to this week:

Nice mid-50 to low 60 degree weather called from some outdoor play time! Andrew and my parents definitely left at the wrong time because they’re missing all the great weather!

Patrick decided to throw all his toys into the garbage. Later he changed his mind and pulled them all right back out again!
