Baby Samuel Has Arrived!

July 24th, 2006

Baby Samuel came this morning after a VERY quick and rigorous labor. He weighed 6 lb, 3 oz and was born on Auntie DeeDee’s birthday. We will give more info as we can, but I just wanted to make sure to let people know, since the hospital has wireless internet access!!!!!

My Sister Diane Is Amazing!

July 18th, 2006

Last week my sister painted Patrick’s bathroom for him. The previous owners, who had three girls, had painted the room lavendar. The color just didn’t work for us! So Diane helped me pick out a beautiful teal blue color of paint to compliment the shower curtain and bathroom accessories we had, and she repainted the whole bathroom over the course of several days. After she had done all the touchups, we went to Michaels and bought some pearlized acrylic paints in a rainbow of colors to paint fish and coral on the walls. Diane then locked herself in the room for a day and, using our shower curtain as a guide, created a beautiful underwater scene all around the room. Here are the pictures!

I hope Patrick and Samuel will enjoy their fishy bathroom for many, many years to come. What a special way for them to remember their very artistic auntie!

Also, Patrick wanted to say thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Flanagan for sending him the bath mat which went with our fishy bath set. It looks great, and was one of the last thing we needed to pull the bathroom together. It’s not in these pictures because they were taken the day before the mat arrived, but we put it in front of the sink. Thanks so much!
